Causeway Jersey
U15 County Championship Final
19/09/06Kilmoyley2-08VCauseway4-03

Causeway played Kilmoyley in the county final of the U15 Championship in Abbeydorney last Monday night 18th September. Causeway played with a strong breeze in the first half and with goals coming from John Cantillion, Colm Harty and Tommy Mulvihill they led at the break by six points but playing against the breeze in the second half they would have their work cut out to win. Score at HT Causeway 3-02 Kilmoyley 0-5.

In the second half Kilmoyley through everything at Causeway and despite some great defending by Eoin O Grady, Ricky Keane, Brian Murphy, Muiris Delaney, Tommy Barrett and Brendan Carroll, coming towards the end of the game Causeway found themselves a point down but then a quick break found its way to Colm Harty and when he danced his way through the defence and crashed the ball to the back of the Kilmoyley net Causeway were two points to the good, but a Kilmoyley free put them within one point again and then when Kilmoyley were awarded a late free it looked like a draw would be the likely outcome but the free sailed wide and with that the final whistle blew much to the delight of the large Causeway crowd. After the game Alec Morissey presented the plaque to captain Colm Harty. Well done to all the team and to the Mentors, Richard Keane, John Joe Delaney, Chris Fealy and trainer Mike Burke.
