U14 Feile Na Gael - Cork June 2006
Our U-14's travelled to the Feile Finals in County Cork on Friday June 16th. The first match was on Friday afternoon with a 1-05 to 0-04 win over our host club Ballygiblin. The it was off to Cork City for the parade. Causeway continued on winning ways on Saturday morning beating the much fancied Watergrasshill 2-6 to 1-04 and also Wolfe Tones 4-02 to 0-02. Having won out of their group section, Causeway were now in the quarter-final against Donegal opposition. The players really played out of their skins in this game trailing for most of the time, they pulled ahead near the end to win by 2 points 3-03 to 2-04. This game took a heavy toll on the boys as it was played at the hottest time of the day 3pm and they really run themselves to a standstill. Causeway who had also picked up a number of injuries in this game were now heading for a semi-final against Kenmare / Kilgarvan. Causeway got off to a slow start and were behind from the start. However, they never gave up and tried to the end. Final score was Kenmare / Kilgarvan 2-06 to Causeway 1-03. Overall winning four games and loosing one was a great achievement for the locals and they can only ben efit from the experience. The club would also like to thank all the parents and supporters who travelled in such great numbers to all games.
