The seniors played Abbeydorney in the quarter final of the championship last Saturday evening in Austin Stack Park and after a very slow start Causeway went in at the break trailing by four points 1-05 to 0-4.

In the second half playing with the aid of the breeze Causeway came out with all guns blazing and scored three quick points and this was the start the lads needed, a John Joe Canty goal following good work by Cyril Dineen gave Causeway a great lead but then Abbeydorney got in for their second goal of the game but immediately Conor Harty pointed and this settled the team again.

Then Causeway were awarded a 21 yard free and John Mike Dooley stepped up to blaze the ball to the back of the Abbeydorney net. Causeway were now leading by five points and another Abbeydorney goal meant a tense end to the game but the Causeway defence stood firm and kept Abbeydorney out to win on a scoreline of Causeway 2-14 Abbeydorney 3-09
