Causeway minors travelled to Abbeydorney to play Abbeydorney in the North Kerry Championship final and despite playing with the breeze in the first half found themselves down six points at half time on a score of Abbeydorney 1-05 Causeway 0-2. Causeway started the second half brighter and scored two quick goals and led by two points coming towards the end but a sucession of quick frees put Abbeydorney one point up.

Then following a good crossfield ball by Adam Whyte, Colm Harty flicked the ball to the Abbeydorney net to give Causeway a two point lead but then disaster struck as from a long range free by Abbeydorney resulted in a scramble in the Causeway box and Abbeydorney reacted quickest and finished the ball to the back of the net to earn a one point win. This was unlucky on the Causeway boys who had hurled with great heart in the second half. Final Score: Abbeydorney 2-11 Causeway 3-07
